Dream Setlist for the 1989 World Tour

I am SO excited for this tour! While I was listening to the album, I found myself trying to picture what songs Taylor would actually perform and how she would do them. I realized that I actually really want to hear every song (bonus ones included) live and I'd even be ok with not hearing any of the old stuff (except for Love Story) if that would ensure that this was possible. With that in mind, I decided to make my own setlist- so Taylor if for some reason you're #taylurking and come across this post, please take notes ;)

Ok so if I could pick the setlist for the 1989 Tour it would be (in no particular order) -

  1. Shake It Off
  2. Welcome to New York
  3. I Know Places
  4. Wonderland
  5. Clean
  6. Blank Space
  7. Wildest Dreams
  8. This Love
  9. Style
  10. Out of the Woods
  11. Bad Blood
  12. New Romantics
  13. All You Had to do was Stay
  14. I Wish You Would
  15. Sparks Fly
  16. Love Story
  17. You Belong With Me
  18. Mean
  19. 22
  20. I Knew You Were Trouble

Although, 20 songs is A LOT, this would be one hell of a show- although anything she puts together for this tour will be one hell of a show and I cannot wait. I genuinely hope she does Wonderland and New Romantics even though they are bonus tracks. I could live without YBWM, but Love Story HAS to be played for this tour-it's tradition. I think Sparks Fly would fit well and so would Mean and 22. I also just think she would have a lot of fun performing IKYWT again, but I could also live without that song as well.

What about you? What songs are you dying to hear live? Also, do you hope she does a surprise B-Stage song again?

Shake It Off Is Breaking Records

Just when you thought Taylor Swift was done breaking records, Slayor *ahem* I mean TAYlor does it again.

Her newly released single, "Shake It Off" came in as the highest debuting song on the Billboard Adult Pop Songs & Billboard Pop Songs charts. "Shake It Off" came in the number 9 spot, the first song ever to make it into the top 10 in the history of the Adult Pop chart. It broke Alannis Morisette's record for "Thank U" which came in the number 13 spot. It tied with Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover" for the number 12 spot on the pure Pop Songs chart.

Charlie Walk, the Vice President of Republic Records said, "This historic launch represents impeccable set-up and teamwork with precise execution. Most importantly, it further emphasizes the power of Taylor and her world-class music."

The music video for "Shake It Off" also had 40+ Million views on YouTube in just 1 week's time.

"Shake It Off" also debuted in the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list in it's first week of being released.

It has also sold 544,000 digital copies which has made it the highest debuting single of 2014. "Shake It Off" is also the 4th highest debuting single ever. It follows "Right Round" by Flo Rida, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Slayor Taylor Swift, and "Roar" by Katy Perry.

All in all, I'd say Taylor and 1989 are off to an AMAZING start and I for one would like to thank every single person who has spent the last few years hating on Taylor, all of the critics, and all of the cynics who inspired such a catchy and uplifting song that they will not be able to escape for the next 2 years. Enjoy it because we swifties are LOVING it. ;)

The 2014 VMAs

Taylor started off VMA day by sharing a few pictures with us. The first one was of her bedazzled mic and her amazingly sparkly shoes.

Then she shared her and Olivia's "game" faces which are adorable!

Finally, she shared this gem of her and Ed getting ready. I knew there was a reason his skin is always so flawless!!

Taylor showed up wearing a very short long sleeved blue alphabet romper and maroon shoes. While the reviews on her outfit are mixed, she pulled it off. I would never wear this, but I must say she looked incredible. Her legs were on full display and the world thanks her for it. I'm glad she made such a fearless choice and wore something she really loved and really wanted to wear.

Also, Tay was interviewed by Lucy Hale who is not only amazing, but a fellow swiftie. I'm glad she and Tay finally got to meet and I hope this was the beginning of an amazing new friendship.

Taylor performed "Shake It Off" live for the first time and holy f was it amazing. The sparkly crop top outfit was amazing and totally brought flashbacks of the purple Fearless dress and the gold Speak Now dress. It's like the Red era was a complete departure, but now we're getting a little bit of the old Tay back a long with a lot of the new Taylor.

Her performance was very "Great Gatsby"-esque and it was amazing. There was so much sass and I loved it! At one point it looked like she was going to jump into the arms of all of those very handsome men, but then she showed her quirky side and refused. "I don't care if it's the VMAs, I'm not jumping down there. People are getting bit by snakes, it's dangerous." She was referring to an incident the day before when one of Nicki Minaj's dancers got bit by a snake. Tay then ran down the stairs and got in place before belting out the high note. It was quirky and adorable, all in typical Taylor fashion.

During her performance the camera panned to audience members who all seemed to be enjoying it, except for Miley who looked shocked by what Taylor was doing. Gwen Stefani, JLo, and Ariana Grande all seemed to enjoy the performance.

Another highlight of the night is Taylor hanging out with Demi Lovato. I love their friendship. Taylor and Lorde sat with Demi, Nick Jonas, and his girlfriend. It looked like everyone was enjoying themselves. Also, Lorde was super sweet in her introduction of Taylor and Taylor's reaction to Lorde winning her first VMA was adorable. She was so excited for her and for Ed when he also won his first VMA. All in all, I'd say it was a pretty good night.

1989 Announcement Recap

What an INSANE day!!! I don't know about you but my mind is still reeling from that wonderful and incredible live stream! Not only did we hear the first single, but we know the name of the album AND we got a music video. Taylor is one crazy generous lady.

Shake It Off.

  • I kind of love this song. I love the beat of the music, it's really catchy, and I love that Taylor is making fun of herself. She's just putting it out there and saying that haters are gonna hate and all you can do is shake it off and keep going. It's such a fun feel good song and that makes me really happy. I think this was a really good choice to lead the way for Album 5, which brings me too...

1989

  • We can officially retire the title "Album 5" and replace it with 1989! Miss Swift chose her birth year as the title for this album which she says is influenced heavily by late 80's pop music. I am so curious to see where she goes with this.
  • She also shared the cover art which is an actual Polaroid picture of her. Along with this, she informed us that the album artwork is all in Polaroids and each album will contain a set of 13 Polaroid pictures that she has decided to share with the world. There will be 5 sets of 13 so something tells me this is going to be a lot like trading cards and Pokemon cards. We will catch them all.
  • There will also be a deluxe version of the album with 3 bonus tracks and Tay is doing something that she has never done before. There will be 3 memo recordings from her phone on there that will be 3 of the songs in the early stages of the song writing process. I for one think it will be epic to hear how the song starts and what it becomes.
  • Taylor will be doing a 1989 Swiftstakes where concert tickets and meet and greets will be given out for the next tour, so that is pretty sweet of her
  • The album will drop October 27, 2014 but is available right now for pre-order right here.
  • Shake It Off & the Shake It Off music video are available on iTunes now

Shake It Off music video

  • This video is just everything.
  • Taylor is basically poking fun at herself and her dancing skills by putting them to the test with a bunch of insanely talented professional dancers.
  • This video is everything. It is hilarious and adorable and is guaranteed to make you smile.
  • Check it out here

I can not believe we are here in the 1989 era. We know so much more than what we knew just a few hours ago, but we still don't have a clue about what is to come. I can't wait to see what else the Queen has in store for us. I am so happy that she is so proud and so excited about this album. She poured her heart and soul in it, and I can't wait for her to share it with her nearest and dearest friends (aka Swifties!)
