Swiftmas 2013

MERRY SWIFTMAS!!!!

Let's see how Taylor and her amazing family spent the holidays this year.

Taylor gave Austin an early Christmas gift which he clearly adores. She stitched a quote from Gary Busey and framed it for him:

Taylor spent some quality time with one of her best friends Hailee Steinfeld as well as Meredith to decorate for Christmas. They were kind enough to share pictures with us:

And finally, Taylor shared a picture of her and Austin in matching Christmas onsies. The hat she is wearing belonged to Ronan and was given to her by Maya. Apparently Maya was having a very rough Christmas Eve until Taylor posted this picture. We miss you Ronan.

Merry Swiftmas 2013 everyone!

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2013

Angels. Lingerie. Costumes. Taylor Swift. What an unlikely combination – or so we thought. Taylor was the headlining performer, along with Fall Out Boy, A Great Big World, and Neon Jungle. Taylor and VS Angel Lily Alderidge caused the entire swiftie fandom to freak out by posting pictures together backstage at the show while it was filming. The new BFFS seemed to have a lot of fun together and with model Cara
Delevingne. The models also did lip sync video to "I Knew You Were Trouble" which was super cute (watch it here).

So exactly how did Taylor become a part of the show? Well according to Ed Razek, the Chief Marketing Officer of Limited Brands, it all occurred while having dinner with Angel Lily Alderidge. He mentioned how great it would be to have Taylor perform at the show and Lily revealed that both she and Tay live in Nashville and are friends. She sent Tay a note and Taylor agreed to do it.

Before the show Taylor stunned in a sparkly floral mini.

Taylor opened the show along with Fall Out Boy joining them in singing their hit song “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark.” It was glorious and you can check it out here. She rocked the British flag in a sexy high lo dress and adorable top hat. Needless to say she was perfect and FOB was wonderful.

She returned to the stage for the final “scene” and performed “I Knew You Were Trouble.” She changed the song up slightly with an incredible high note that made a fantastic song an incredible song (watch here). She wore a bedazzled mini dress that was gorgeous. It was hard to tell if she was one of the models or not. Speaking of models, she and the Angels had some fun on stage, walking together or slapping butts in typical girl fashion. It was really fun to watch and clearly the models (all except 1) loved having her there.

After the show the Angels/Models were having their “class” picture taken. During the photo session the models called out Taylor and asked her to join them. Taylor’s reaction? “What? Me?” The photographer’s answer: “Who can say no to Taylor swift?” and with that we have this picture:

Taylor's 24th Birthday

It's official: the queen is 24 years old.

Taylor spent her birthday in Australia this year and from the looks of it, she had a lot of fun. She hung out with her band, dancers, and other friends at a party in a rose garden. One of the most notable friends in attendance was Lorde. Taylor shared quite a few pictures of her special day with swifties every where, and a lot of these shots include roses. This has lead to a lot of speculation in the fandom about whether or not roses have something to do with the upcoming 5th album. I guess we'll know for sure soon enough.

Here they are playing with sparklers:

One of the beautiful centerpieces (notice there are no red roses...):

Gorgeous.

What a beautiful group of ladies:

1. It took four write throughs to come to the version of “Our Song” we know

3. Taylor once ate an entire bowl of Tootsie Rolls in a salon while getting a pedicure

4. Every song on the standard Speak Now album made it on the Billboard hot 100

5. Taylor wrote and recorded “The Best Day” while on tour with Brad Paisley in the summer of 2007

6. Safe & Sound went to number 1 on iTunes in 13 hours

7. “The Story of Us” was the last song recorded for Speak Now

8. Taylor wrote “Long Live” on the last show of the Fearless tour in a hallway

9. Taylor’s favorite fan gifts are the ones for Meredith

10. She has 14 entries for the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records

11. The only place Taylor will read celebrity news about herself or others is in Rolling Stone Magazine

CMA Awards 2013

The CMA Awards were a great night all around. Taylor walked away with 4 awards total; 1 of those awards being the most prestigious award the Country Music Association has to offer – The Pinnacle Award. We will talk more about that later.

Lets start with her look of the night.

  • Her dress. Her dress was so beautiful. I loved that she wore red, and all of the detail on it made me think of Christmas (which is her favorite holiday).
  • Her hair. Her hair reminded me of her hairstyle at the Oscars. That look is fantastic on her, although I do miss the fairy tale princess up dos.
  • Her makeup. Flawless.

Now let’s discuss the highs and lows of the night:

  • Taylor’s Awkward Award Show Dancing. It was as awkward as ever! I love watching her dance, it makes me dance along at home.
  • Brad & Carrie. They were epic all night long. From fake feuds, ObamaCare, and remixing “Blurred Lines,” and saying Luke Bryan twerks they didn’t miss a beat
  • Brad saying this to Taylor, ““Taylor, you’ve grown up right before our very eyes,” Brad said. “And I want to thank you from a grateful industry, for never once humping a teddy bear or gyrating with Beetle Juice. I really appreciate it. I know that’s not easy.”
  • Taylor’s face when Brad thanked her
  • Taylors face when Florida Georgia Line thanked her in their acceptance speech
  • Carrie Underwood’s performance and clothes
  • Brad’s “beetle juice” outfit
  • Luke Bryan & Florida Georgia Line’s performance
  • Taylor's special performance of "Red" with her special guests
  • The single greatest highlight of the night however was Taylor accepting the Pinnacle Award. The video they put together for her was out of the water incredible, and her face showed it. The looks on her family’s face as she accepted this award was enough to make anyone cry. Not to mention the proud looks on Rascal Flatt’s, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, George Strait, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill’s faces. Everyone was so proud of her. Even on the video: Ethel Kennedy, Keith Urban, Vince Gill, Mick Jagger, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Justin Timberlake, and Ellen Degeneres all looked incredibly proud of our girl. She really has accomplished something incredible. Only 1 other person has EVER won this award and she is the 1st woman and the youngest recipient. I love how in her acceptance speech, she turned it on the people standing on stage with her. Everyone up there was someone she had opened for, and she thanked each of them and shared something that each person/group taught her about performing. We owe them an awful lot. She is living proof of what can happen when we admit we don’t know everything about something and when we study those who are great at what they do. Now she is up in the “legend” status of country music. I also love that she thanked us. I mean she always thanks us, but this time it was different. She knew we did this for her simply by buying a cd or going to a concert. She knows that she wouldn’t be where she is without us, and we know that we wouldn’t be where we are without her. That is a powerful relationship.

Now for the lows:

  • The “fued” between Darius Rucker and Julianne Hough who had just been in the news for her infamous blackface incident. That was a poor choice indeed.
  • Kacey Musgraves looked pissed when Miranda Lambert won female vocalist. Way to be a sore loser. I liked her until that. Taylor, Carrie, and Miranda always support each other no matter who wins and if Kacey wants to be one of the legendary women of country music then she needs to drop the attitude and learn to play nice and genuinely support her fellow artists

Overall, this was a great award show.

Taylor won: Event of the Year for “Highway Don’t Care”, Video of the Year for “Highway Don’t Care,” International Artist Achievement Award, and The Pinnacle Award.

Watch Tay win the Pinnacle Award again right here.

13 Fun Facts - November

Happy Swift Day everyone (belated – sorry)!! Here are the 13 Fun Facts for November:

2. Only 1 other person has ever won the CMA Pinnacle award and that was Garth Brooks. Tay is the first female to win it

3. Scott Swift used to be a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch

4. Taylor loves chandeliers

5. Her favorite Disney movie is The Lion King

6. She thinks the lyrics to “Cold As You” are among the best she’s ever written

7. One of her bodyguards is named Bobby

8. The music video for “Teardrops On My Guitar” was filmed in 1 day

9. Taylor says the dresses are her “comfort zone” when it comes to clothes

10. The only time Tay feels insecure about her clothes is if she thinks she is underdressed

11. Sometimes Taylor attends Crosspoint Church in Nashville for Sunday services

12. Garth Brooks daughters have seen Taylor in concert

13. Taylor likes to think a good book and a good concert are the same, because they both let you escape for a little while

The Quote of the Month for November is a line from "Story of Us." "The battle's in your hands now, but I would lay my armor down if you said you'd rather love than fight."

I think everyone has been in a relationship where it seemed like only one person was truly invested. The other person was always upset about something or looking for a fight. This line is where she lays it all out there and tells this person (JM) that its on him and if he wants to fix it to let her know. Obviously we know this person didn't, but the right one will.

We love you guys, have a great month!
