Met Gala 2014

The Met Gala was last night and boy did Taylor bring her "A" game. The Met Gala is like the Oscars of fashion and Taylor could have taken home the top prize (there isn't really a prize, but she looked amazing).

Aside from her gorgeous dress & her flawless hair/makeup, the night was also a big one for Taylena. The ladies' friendship has been the center of a lot of fighting rumors lately, and last night those rumors were put to rest. Don't believe me? Head over to Selena's Instagram and see the adorable video she posted herself. Selena wasn't Taylor's only bestie there. She got ready with Karlie Kloss and spent a lot of the night with her. I also believe they arrived together (that would make sense since they got ready together...). Hailee Steinfeld was also there and even though there is no photographic evidence, I am sure she and Tay hung out. The same goes for Dianna Agron and Emma Stone. VMAs 2013

Last night was the VMAs and boy was it eventful and slightly disappointing. Tay didn’t win Video of the Year but she did win Best Female Video. She wanted a moonman and we got her one, so pat yourselves on the back swifties.

Let’s start with the first shot of Taylor all night. She was being interviewed on the red carpet and I think every swiftie had a complete freak out when they saw her hair. THE CURLS WERE BACK! She looked insanely stunning. Words cannot describe how flawless she looked last night. She truly was a 60s queen.

The show started with Lady Gaga doing a very creepy and odd performance and then 1D presented Best Pop Video. The world has thrown Taylor under the bus for supposedly saying “Shut the f up” to Selena (of course about Harry Styles being on stage), HOWEVER if anyone were to actually watch the raw footage and not a GIF of her lips moving it is clear she is talking about her arm (which she then moves because it was on Selena). If I am wrong and she wasn’t talking about her arm and she did in fact curse, who the hell cares. She is 23 years old people; I think she is old enough to say curse words. BUT once again I think it is highly unlikely because she has spent like 7 years trying to build and protect her good image.

She and Selena also danced to Miley Cyrus’ hot mess of a performance where she was pretty much impregnated by Robin Thicke on stage for all of America to see. All I could think during her performance is “what would MaMaw say?” I used to be a Smiler, but I just can’t justify her behavior anymore. Selena was a Disney star to and she has grown up but she did it in a classy way. No one thinks of her as Alex Russo because she doesn’t run around acting crazy and kind of slutty.

When 1D won for Song of the Summer, I personally found it very amusing that they were booed. Take that Directioners. HOWEVER did Taylor boo? Did Taylor roll her eyes and look away from the stage? Did Taylor storm the stage and say they didn’t deserve it? No. She applauded them and listened to their speech. When they were booed, she looked outraged. That’s right. Outraged. Don’t believe me? Look for yourself.

When Taylor won Best Female Video, Harry clapped for her (I think that was very gentlemanly)but Louis didn’t. To that I say, “Louis she didn’t date you-she dated Harry. If he can be a gentleman, maybe you should grow up and be one too.” I loved Taylor’s acceptance speech. She is always so generous with thanking her fans and we appreciate it. I mean I know a lot of people who spent A LOT of time voting for her. I also think its sweet she mentioned the video’s director and her costar Reeve whom she brought as her date (that was sweet too). Then Taylor got all sassy on us and thanked the person who inspired IKYWT for her new award. You go girl! (And for the record Taylor and Harry were together before she and Conor were together and with her comment at the BRIT awards it could suggest that Harry was the inspiration, HOWEVER John Mayer is an ass and that is inspiration enough for IKYWT).

• Taylor didn’t win Video of the Year

• The show was drug out for 2 and a half hours.

Billboard Music Awards 2013

The Billboard awards presented another let down for Swifties everywhere. Taylor should have won the Milestone award, but more on that later. Tay still made out quite well though.

For starters, her dress was absolutely F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S. Royal blue is a great color on her. I also loved her makeup and how blue eyeliner was incorporated into her traditional look. That really made her eyes pop. I also loved her lipstick and would like to know what brand/shade it was so I can get some for myself.

A favorite moment of the night for me was OF COURSE the first EVER live performance of 22 (obviously aside from the tour). Taylor did not disappoint. I love the fact that she did something different and started the show backstage. I love her high-waisted shorts and her adorable blue unicorn tee shirt. Going through the backstage area was awesome; I loved when she got up on the table and started dancing. Going through the audience on the back of a bike was super cute and her dance moves on stage were killer. Harry Styles eat your heart out. 22 is one of my all-time favorite Taylor songs and I will never get tired of seeing her perform it.

 How about all of the awards Taylor DID win?! She walked away with: Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album for RED, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Country Artist, Top Country Album for RED, Top Country Song for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, and Top Digital Artist. Other highlights of the night? Selena Gomez’s performance of “Come and Get It” was spectacular and her introduction for Taylor to sing 22 was so cute. They are adorable friends! Another great performance came from Icona Pop who sang their hit “I Don’t Care”. I still can’t believe Miguel actually kicked a fan during his performance, talk about a freak accident! Watching Taylor and Selena dance during J.Lo and Pitbull’s performance was so cute!

I will say though that I do not believe that Justin Bieber deserved to win the Milestone Award. Not one of his “milestones” compares to Taylor’s, or even Bruno Mars’. I truly believe that either of them deserved the award and if it were given by “the academy” then Taylor would have won. But oh well what can ya do? She is still the top artist.
